International Women's Day + Essential Inbound Marketing Classics (HubHeroes, Ep. 73)

After two weeks on the run β€” OK, technically, I was just moving! β€” I am back in my host's chair for the HubHeroes podcast, and I couldn't be happier.

On top of that, the timing could not have been any better. It's my first episode recording for March, International Women's Month. And also, we happened to record this episode on International Women's Day! As a lady myself, you know I'm definitely all about this incredible holiday.

So, before we hopped into our main topic for this week, we started off this episode with a shout out to all of the incredible women in the inbound space who make our lives so flippin' amazing through their work, dedication, inspiration ... and, well, sometimes just keeping us on track.

Then, George and I tackled our big topic for this week β€” celebrating the inbound marketing classics (frameworks, best practices, mindsets, and more) that have never gone out of style or changed, now matter how much the methodology has evolved.

It's a powerful conversation that also unexpectedly serves as the perfect companion to my fireside chat with him a few weeks back, in which we discussed how inbound has changed over the years.

So, grab a coffee and a snack, and pull up a chair for this informative discussion. We get feisty about AI. I quote Hemingway multiple times. George tempts the hate mail gods with more than a few hot takes up his sleeve. Because as much as inbound has changed, we should never lose sight of the parts of inbound that are our roots.

What We Talked About

  • Why does talking about what hasn't changed with inbound matter so much?

  • When we ask, β€œWhat is your favorite inbound marketing classic that never goes out of style?” ... what is the first thing that comes to mind?

  • What are the evergreen inbound marketing mindsets and ways of thinking that folks should never, EVER let go of?

  • How do we keep a foot planted in both worlds? One foot rooted in what always works with inbound and one foot pointed toward the future, where you remain agile and open minded?

  • What inbound marketing basics are you concerned that folks are getting away from that require more focus?

  • If there is one foundational, classic inbound marketing principle, tactic, or best practice you wish more HubSpotters and Inbounders paid attention to in the coming year – the one that will give them the most juice for the squeeze – what would it be?

And so much more ...
