Hey there, HubSpot Nation! Welcome to the Sidekick Strategies website and another exciting episode of "HubSpot Updates" with me, George B. Thomas. We're here to help you uncover the incredible value you already own within your HubSpot customer platform. Today, we're diving deep into some truly game-changing updates, from smarter data capture to enhanced integrations and a whole new customer portal experience. You won't want to miss these insights, they're designed to help you level up your HubSpot game and build something amazing!
Auto Capture Website Clicks: Never Miss an Interaction
First up, let's talk about something truly massive: Auto Capture Website Clicks. This incredible feature automatically tracks every click on buttons, links, menu items, and other interactive elements across your website, all without any setup or coding! Once your HubSpot tracking code is installed, it captures 100% of visitor interactions, letting you promote the most valuable ones into verified events for use across all your HubSpot tools.
Why Auto Capture Matters
Today's AI-informed humans arrive at your website more qualified than ever, but you might be missing critical interaction data. Auto Capture eliminates those blind spots, giving you complete behavioral data from day one. You'll never again wish you'd been tracking a specific interaction. This complete data empowers better lead scoring, precise segmentation, and smarter automation decisions.
This is massive. Like of all the things that Hubspot's supposed to be doing for you. Like there once was a day where you had to pay for events in enterprise. Then it came down to pro. And now if I'm reading this right or understanding it, it's like, nah, we've decided now we're just going to take care of all of the events for you right off the gate.
Again, folks, running out of excuses to not know what the customer journey looks like and then design for it.
Connections Insights: Your Integration Command Center
Next, let's look at Connections Insights, a fantastic new tab in connected apps. This provides a high-level, centralized view of how your apps are behaving across HubSpot at a glance. It aggregates global insights about app activity, automation involvement, disconnect history, and API usage, with direct links to relevant areas for deeper investigation.
Why Connections Insights Is a Game Changer
As your HubSpot account grows and you add more integrations, it gets harder to understand overall app behavior. Connections Insights gives you a single place to see what's happening across all your apps, making integration behavior easier to understand. You'll reduce time spent hunting for information and know exactly where to go next when something looks off. This helps you move from awareness to action faster, without overwhelming you with details.
Visibility into integrations. Now we have it. Thank you, Hubspot.
Updated Customer Portal Powered By CMS: A Brand New Experience
This is a big one for your customer experience! HubSpot is upgrading the customer portal to run on the CMS app, giving you a faster, more seamless experience with greater flexibility and branding control. Portals activated on or after February 2nd, 2026, will be automatically migrated, but you can migrate earlier too!
What's New in the Customer Portal
This update unlocks access to HubSpot CMS capabilities within a unified environment and enables additional use cases beyond ticketing. You'll notice new features like multiple conversations, viewing all conversation threads connected to a ticket, sort and filter options for ticket data, improved search, and new design layouts including collapsible panels for ticket details and attachments, plus column resizing. This lays the foundation for future cross-hub customer journeys, enabling unified self-service experiences.
Moving to the CMS app platform gives us the speed, design flexibility, and extensibility needed to create a quick branded experience. It's an experience most customers are familiar with and can navigate much more easily.
I love me some collapsible panels, George.
Other Notable Updates You Can't Miss
Enhanced Ticket Automation Messages
Now, Service Hub Starter, Professional, and Enterprise humans can use the full power of HubSpot's redesigned marketing email editor to modify the design of your ticket received and ticket closed messages, even if you don't have a paid Marketing Hub subscription! You can easily add colors, images, and logos to create branded, professional-looking communications.
In other words, it means you can make stuff look better. That's why it matters. Hashtag one. Better user experience. Hashtag one hub.
More Personalization for Team Email Signatures
Good news for your team's personal touch! Phase one of revamping team email signatures is live, adding individual email address, phone number, and job title as personalization options. Future releases will include custom properties and a revamped creation experience.
Customer support teams want to offer a personal human experience to their customer interactions. Why, yes, we do. Yes, we do. I'm pretty sure all all the teams want to do that.
Improved Contact Sidebars in Gmail and Outlook
For those managing email workflows, both the HubSpot Gmail Chrome extension and the Sales add-in for Outlook have updated contact sidebars. They now open in a Chrome side panel or a modernized panel in Outlook, freeing up valuable interface space and providing a more flexible, resizable view of contact details without disrupting your email workflow. You'll stay productive while accessing CRM data.
Send WhatsApp Message Templates Anytime
Agents can now send WhatsApp message templates at any point during an active conversation, not just after the 24-hour session window expires. This makes communication much more flexible and useful for your teams.
Even though WhatsApp templates are mainly for initiating outreach to customers, you should be able to send them anytime in a conversation if it's useful. Useful, ladies and gentlemen.
Create Calculation Properties Using Breeze
In private beta, you can now use Breeze to generate the formula for a calculated property using natural language instead of building it from scratch! Breeze can turn a plain language prompt into a formula for custom equation, time since, time until, and time between properties. This is a huge time-saver and complexity reducer!
Calculated properties are powerful, but building the formula can be intimidating. Very true, Hubspot. Or time consuming. Yep, especially for users who don't work with them every single day. In other words, mere mortal humans.
Redesigned Marketing Event Record Page
The marketing events object now uses the standard CRM record page layout, including notes, timeline, and CRM cards. This means you can manage marketing events more efficiently and consistently with other CRM objects, logging notes, tasks, and calls directly on event records, viewing a comprehensive timeline, customizing layouts, and easily associating campaigns. It's growing up to be a fully baked object!
Because this feels pretty dang close to major to me.
Prevent Non-Service Users From Sending From Help Desk Email Addresses
In public beta, admins can now control who has access to help desk email addresses when sending one-to-one emails from a record page. Only users with Service Hub access permission can do so, preventing accidental sales emails from a support address and aligning with how the conversations inbox already works.
This prevents sales reps from accidentally sending sales emails from a support address. It also brings help desk, you know somebody has done that, Chris, by the way.
Multi-Object Syncs to the CRM From Data Studio
Data Studio humans can now target multiple objects and create associations between them as they sync data from their data sets to the CRM within Data Studio. This allows for more accurate syncing of external data and unlocks additional objects dependent on associations, like line items.
