Send Surveys Via Workflows in HubSpot: A Step-by-Step Guide

Here's something we're really excited about: HubSpot recently released a game-changing feature that's still in public beta. You can now send surveys directly through your workflows. This opens up a whole new level of automation for gathering feedback from your humans at exactly the right time in their journey.

Let's walk through how to set this up so you can start using it right away.

Enrolling In The Beta Feature

First things first, you'll need to opt into this beta feature. Here's how:

  1. Log into your HubSpot account and click the settings gear icon in the top right
  2. Navigate to "Product Updates" on the left sidebar
  3. Select "Beta" to view all available beta features
  4. Search for "send surveys via workflows"
  5. Click on the feature and select "Enroll entire account"
  6. Accept the beta terms and you're in

Once you've enrolled, you're ready to build your first workflow survey.

Creating Your Survey With Workflow Delivery

  1. Go to "Automation" in your main navigation and select "Surveys"

  • Leave the thank you page on default initially (you can customize later)
  • Adjust email copy and subject lines if you want to (or keep the defaults)
  • Don't assign recipients yet. That's handled through your workflow automation
